Parenting options and opinions vary widely in todays society, so how do you decide what is best for your child and your families situation. Most of us learn how to parent (or not to parent) from our own parents, but still there are so many options. Do you take the advice of your pediatrician over your own mother? Should you trust your own instincts? Should you take the road less travelled? I am certainly no expert. I am constantly learning and deciding how to parent my own daughter. I have taken the advice of many. Some of this advice i've kept, a lot I've discarded. But so far we are very happy with our parenting choices. One of the key persons who has influenced my and my husbands parenting is my mother in law. She basically raised her children in line with the Attachment Pareting Philosophy(though she doesn't use those terms). Her children grew up by their own choosing as vegetarians, and they lived a natural lifestyle (no tv, cloth nappies, home schooling etc).
This site has been created to inform and discuss alternative parenting choices such as Vegan and vegetarian nutrition, attachment and natural parenting, and homeschooling.

Attachment Parenting
Attachment Parenting is a parenting philosophy practised by many people in many generations. It is also known as instinctive parenting and focuses on enabling our childs independence through a strong foundation of attachment,, respect and trust. Attachment parenting usually includes cosleeping, baby wearing, positive parenting, and breastfeeding. This is not a list however. Do not feel that if you are unable to baby wear or breastfeed that you aren't AP.
Natural Parenting
Natural Parenting has a focus on our childrens health, our health and the safety of the environment. This includes the use of wooden or nonsynthetic toys, cloth nappying, Attachment parenting, positive parenting, elimination communication(EC) and natural child birth.
Natural parentin to me includes limiting toxins in your environment by using natural cleaning products, eating organic food, not Vaccinating and using baby and planet safe products.
