Ok, so once again, I'm looking to compare food intake among babies- I just feel like he's never getting enough to eat, or the right combination of food! Are we within the norms? Mohamed has about 7 feedings of breastmilk, either right from the cow or a bottle when i'm at work, probably about 6 oz of water, and eats a few bites of whatever we are eating at meals. Other than that, he snacks a little on teething buscuits or pieces of fruit. I feel like I can't keep up with the milk demands and that he should be moving a little bit away from milk as his main source of nutrition, or am I completely off? I just know I struggle to get enough out for him, but he also doesn't want anything else... Thoughts? Comparisons? Thanks!
Oh also- any ideas how to effectively baracade a staircase that only has a wall on one side (read: nothing to anchor the other side of a gate to...)
I'm in pretty much the same boat with food. our milk feeds have increased and its killing me. Asha is hellbent on feeding herself too which means she really isn't getting much food. I think she's having a growth spurt as well as teething.
Not sure about the stairs, once my eldest was 13 months old we moved to a townhouse with a flight of carpetted stairs and we taught Charlie how to scoot down. I think Mohamed is probably a bit youg for that though.
same here... he used to eat baby food 3 times a day but when he was teething he got a really bad cold and his dr told me if is appetite decreases its okay. so ever since then i cant get him to eat anything. he eats a few bites of what we are eating. he will eat a tiny bit of baby food. he doesnt act hungry at all. i try a lot of different fruits, veggies, etc its just not working. he likes graham crackers. he is nursing like 6-7 times a day too and im so ready for him to nurse 3-4 times a day and eat food because im ttc for going on 9 months now...
ok- makes me feel better to know i'm not the only one! I just can't get this kid to eat anything! All he wants is boobs! I just can't keep up! Thanks for the input!
Elisabeth is like Asha. She insists on feeding herself, no help. Finger foods sometimes work but other times she wants to use a fork but she wants to get her food on the fork herself. She just can't figure out how. If we stab the food for her she might pull it off and try to put it back on or hit the fork in the pile of food to try to pick up more but knocking what she already has off the fork. Much more gets on her than in her!
