cool pets. our geckos aren't pets, they're more likely friendly pest eliminators that live around the house. i feel so sad when we injure them too. one lost its tail the other day.
i don't know their name but they're a very very pale green colour, almost look like they'd glow in the dark but they don't.

i'm asking myself what kind of pests you have that you need to keep lizards around to control them! I'm very glad it is temperate here and we don't have large insects! i get so creeped out when i see them inside (outside is not a problem- that's where they belong...just not in my kitchen, or worse yet, in my bathtub where i'm naked without a shoe to throw at them...)

mari, in florida they do this with geckos too. my dh said they are called day geckos they just let them run around the house and it is a completely SAFE non toxic form of pest control. ironically, as obssessed dh and i are with our home being toxin free and living green, dh works for terminix he is a pest control guy( we will NEVER use that carp around our home though!! i would take the geckos any day!) he used to be a lawn guy for tru green chem lawn- HELLO it has the word chemical right in the name!! and dh is a pack a day smoker(NEVER around ds, and changes clothes and showers before being around ds) but yeh i just thought it weird to try so hard to live toxin free yet for dh to be bombarded with AND spreading toxins around for a living all day long!

Believe me they wont do that. they stay clear of us. They usually hang out on the outside of our windows but when they come inside they stick to the walls and are only looking for food. I'm glad they're taking care of the insects though. once i woke up in the middle of the night(probably 10 yrs ago) and i could hear a ringing noise. the ring stopped when i put my finger in my ear and crushed(by accident) a tiny baby cockroach. and dh wonders why i have issues with them.
really the geckos are cute.

That's funny. We live in South Florida, and they're all over the place! I feel sorry for the ones that get inside, because after a few days, they get so pale and transparent. But if you try to take them outside, there goes the tail, and you know you gave them a panic attack.
