I make kokonut milk, what's your superpower?

We do. I guess. Lately I think our catch ratio has fallen below 1:2, but we do try. Kody's been sitting on the potty for a good 3 minutes with not a drop, only to pee on the bathroom floor as soon as he's off. If he's wearing undies or training pants (or a diaper for that matter) and he wets himself he runs to me and very clearly tells me he needs a change, which is a step back in the right direction, I guess, but I miss the pre-walking days when we caught almost everything. I found some inexpensive waterproof training pants on ebay (a buck a piece, plus reasonable shipping) that make me feel better if someone stops by and picks him up and I haven't checked him in a while. They're not totally waterproof, and they're mostly made of synthetic fibers, but the do fit snuggly around his legs and middle which is an issue because he has a real tiny heinee. (gets it from his dad) I just ordered some babylegs leg warmers to wear at night because it's so cold in the house at night he refuses to sit on the potty long enough to go and then pees the bed. I want to make a seat warmer, too, maybe that will help.
I suppose I'm rambling. Anyone else out there?

We certainly don't have a problem with the cold but I can't see c or either of us getting up in the night to take c to the potty. She never has been one for the potty in the middle of the night. Even when she was doing almost every pee and poo in the potty, she had no desire at all at night.
Lately we have been getting a few more. She tends to find a nappy and bring it to us when she needs to go. Other times though we will put her on the potty and she will refuse, and then go on the bathroom floor seconds later. Funny kid.
C holds it really well when we are in the car and really lets us know when she wants to go. The other day she just about caused a flood after holding it in the car! She has no problem peeing just about anywhere when squatted - the side of the road, in the park, on the beach, you name it. It is a different matter when we are at home.
Still, she is getting clearing when she is telling us and we are finding it really good.

Yes - I did EC with my DD. Loved it even though we had our catch-free days sometimes :-) Have a look at Chardra's EC site for some wonderful insights on the whole EC journey and especially her list of Golden Opportunities http://www.adam.com.au/chrispy/ECHome.htmlThe most important thing for us was to keep up the communication aspect of it. Talk, talk, talk. And DD, now 3yo still loves talking on the toilet! We also found that EC when out and about was more reliable - I suspect that is because I had fewer distractions while out - and I carried her in the sling a lot so her signals were much clearer for me. I hear that baby legs and other leg warmers are great for EC - I just used my own socks on DD. It can be hard to find good training pants to fit little ones. General consensus seems that the best include OneWet Pants, Poquito Pants, Bundies, and some of the stuff at the EC store. Marnie - who makes OneWet Pants 6yo DD#1 3yo DD#2 - EC from several weeks old with cloth nappies, training pants from 6mo, cotton undies at 12mos, "grad" at 23 mos

I was about to ask how old your daughter is but then saw in your post. Won't have a problem here when charlie is ready(we EC, see tristans post). charlie is a hefty 13month old 13kg bub.
we're not game for the cotton undies yet.

We have never ever had a miss while he was in the sling or wrap, which is saying something since I like to take long walks with him. Only once did he pee in the car, and it was under really adverse conditions. I just think it's such a cool thing, I wonder why everybody doesn't do it.

The best thing: when your little over a one year old says yes(nods enthusiastically) when you ask "do you need to go to the toilet?" A lot of the time though she needs to go but doesn't want to but i see this as a major turning point.
