So did any of you ask for some special gifts during the holidays? I asked dh for the new washing machines that conserve water and a new dryer, because the old POS I have from when we first got married uses up like 50 gallons of water!!! So the one I want uses less than 15! What really kills me is the fact that those energy effiecient water saver units are SO flipping expensive. You'd think they'd want everyone do use them and make them affordable! I know mine "thing" seems dorky, but dh isn't very good at selecting gifts and at least it's something we need and can all use LOL.

haha, it's not dorky! I asked for gift certificates to the grocery store, you're a lot of fun compared to me.
I also mentioned charitable donations, but my family are not into that.

That's not dorky at all. I used to be the queen of dorky Santa lists as a kid. One time all I asked for was a hymnal. D O R K Y. This year I asked for some frou frou slippers.

I would totally accept a gift cert. for the grocery store, my dh is a grocery NAZI. "Why did you buy ___" "will you really get the kids to eat ____" "we don't need ___ I won't eat it"...

I asked for a canister set. My sister opted out of buying gifts and did some charity thing where you buy a cow for an underdeveloped community (I don't know all the specifics yet) But she did that with her christmas money instead- i guess that afterwards you can get updates and such, i thought it was cool, but i would still like the canister set...

We have been doing alot more baking so I asked for a stand mixer. I promptly found an old chrome one that still works great at a thrift store a few days later and bought it. Then hoped that my husband had not bought one already. I got 4 one hour massages in gift certificate form for my close friend who is a MT. I get this every year and it is a wonderful gift one whole uninerrupted hour to talk with my friend and a massage too. I got some other small stuff too. A dayplanner, some new fine point sharpie markers, etc. Oh and a dharma and greg dvd.

Add me to the list of dorky gifts I got a new set of dishes because we've always had mismatched dishes and I wanted a real set. So I bought a seating for 8 plus the matching cassaroles and bowls. I think it's pretty awesome! And none of it is chipped--yet
