Spit Rash
« on: November 22, 2006, 02:06:49 PM »

Does anyone have a remedy for what we like to call "spit rash"? Mohamed has red bumps all around his mouth from drooling. We pat the area dry often during the day, and because he's relatively dry at night, it always looks a little better in the morning, but just happens again, and it gets progressively worse each day. I know he's cutting a tooth and he's drooling more, but there must be something to do to treat it. Oh, I tried my home-made lip balm that i ure all the time, but that hasn't helped. Any advice would be appreciated.

I've heard paw paw ointment can be good for many things,  many claim breastmilk to help too.

Maybe just have a wet cloth ready for wiping.

we are currently battling this with shane. a&d hasd worked in the past but this time it isnt helping all that much. i will br trying aquaphor starting tomrrow. i think they key is to keep vaseline or some other ointment on there as much as possible so the skin stays dry underneath the ointment. if the aquaphor helps ill let ya know

I've been using Lansinoh on Juney's face and hands (her hands are super chapped and dry from where she sucks on them) and it's working really well.  I've used aquaphor in the past and it also works well, but I have a whole tube of Lansinoh in the house and don't have any other need for it!
