Question: How much do you rely on suppliments compared to food nutrition?
DC and I eat for calories and take multivitamins for everything else
DC and I try to eat a variety of foods, but use suppliments for specific  things our diet lacks (ex iron, B-12, calcium)
DC and I eat a well balanced diet and take special care to get all the nutrition we need from our food (ovo-lacto)

i voted that we eat a variety but take vitamins because even with a varied balanced diet we are still lacking alot of nutrients.  From the food we eat today for example the nutrients just aren't there like they used to be(soil nutrient depletion, chemicals etc).  Especially in the glyconutrient department.

Interesting fact:  Breast milk contains the lacking glyconutrients we don't get in our environment which is fantastic for our babies but not us or when we wean.  this is an area where formula really lacks.

So, our whole family including dd take glyconutrient supplements www.glyconutrientsreference.com.  I take prenatals and calcium and a natural herbal iron replacement, only for pregnancy.  I also take phytonutrients as they act to modulate the human endocrine system.  Known to be helpful in aiding in disease prevention. And since i have a cervical problem, I'm going to do what i can.

That's some interesting stuff!

I take a multi, plus an iron, b-12, and calcium.  The calcium is the only one I'm really good at taking every day. I think it's strange that my multi, which is marketed to vegans specificly, doesn't have these things.  I haven't given kody any mostly because he still nurses so much I figure mine are getting to him.  I'd really like to get my nutrients from food, but I, well, I'm lazy and have a hard enough time balancing my protein.
