Well, I moved Ben to a toddler bed last night. Last week he finally got himself out of his crib, so I debated getting a crib tent or moving him, and decided to move him. Then I debated toddler vs. twin bed, and opted for the toddler bed. He slept pretty well in it last night. He went right to sleep and slept until 5am. At that time, he got up and I was unable to get him back to sleep in either his bed or mine! I just put him down for his first nap in the bed. After about 10 minutes, I still heard him playing in there, so I went in to put him back in bed and found him sitting on the bed surrounded by books. Hahaha. I think he's asleep now though. Jessica, I think you already did this - how'd it go? Anyone else? Kerry

we're still waiting to put c in her own bed in her room. if we hadn't had Asha we probably would have tried it by now but we didn't want to upset charlie by excluding her. also charlie still needs us at least once per night to put her dummy back in.

we bought a toddelr bed a few mths ago but up ill now maddox has just napped on it when he wants , i had it alongside my bed for a bit and he slept in it at night but now he is back in my bed as he has been sck last few days.
i figure that if i just let him pick and choose when he sleeps in it the transition will be smoother when the time comes.
the last month he has completely iven up the dummy (amazinglyas he was a real dummy crazed kid) he goes to lseep and tays that way all night without it which is great... im so impressed with him i honestly thought hed be 3 yrs old and wed be having trouble.

I'm glad Ben did so well. We moved Jocelyn about 3 weeks ago and I was pleasantly surprised at how well it went. Some nights she wakes up once and wants us to tuck her back in but she generally sleeps through fine (and pretty much did from the beginning of the move). Getting her to stay in bed to go to sleep is a little more challanging. Some nights she goes right to sleep, some nights she plays in her room for a while and we have to go put her back in bed and some nights she spends a half hour running from her bed to peak out her door and laugh when she sees us. It is really cute to see her poke her little head around the corner looking for us!
We did have about a week of some early wakings without being able to get her back to sleep because she figured that she was 'up' so why would she want to lay back down but she eased out of it on her own pretty quickly. We just went to bed a little early for a few days while she adjusted (and I do mean we!).
Good luck. It sounds like it will be a pretty easy transition for him.

Kody's going to move into his own bed the day he goes to college, I swear. He actually tells me, if I start to take him to bed (ie he's almost asleep in my arms, or he's told me "nigh nigh"), "Nigh nigh. Koko, nigh nigh. Mommy, nigh nigh." In the morning it takes me at least ten minutes, if not two hours, to convince him to get out of bed for breakfast instead of just laying there having booby all day. I'm actually a tiny bit concerned about it, but on the other hand, it's nice to have someone to snuggle with.

Congrats, Kerry and Ben! That's awesome that the transition went so smooth. My kids are still in the bed w/ me. I haven't tried to move them yet. One day...sigh!!!

Dealeney is still waking up to the booby bar. We (her and I) have moved to her room and are sleeping on a double mattress. I am slowly trying to transition her to sleeping on her own. I have a feeling it is going to take a while. I don't mind. I like it most of hte time.
