When to Begin Potty-Training?

Obviously, most people will say "when they're ready"...so, I'm just interested in what you think the "ideal" age is, if in a perfect world. If you have any particular reason why, please explain.

I have to say that when they are ready would have been my answer. I picked 18-24 because that is when we started.

i hit 18mth to 2 yrs because there wasnt a newborn to 3 yrs option.

for us , we were interested in EC but with the amount of travelling we did in that first year it just wouldnt have worked maybe with the next bub.

as far as maddox goes he is starrting to be very aware of going to the toilet and will bring me a nappy hen he ants a new one ect so we are starting to think about how to start the toilet training soon.  i think ill wait untill the summer though as he isnt even a fan of having no socks on in winter let aloneno nappy going to the loo.

funny thing though (and now im blabbing) the other day he had a shower (reluctantly) and was walking around with his towel when all of a sudden he started peeing on the bathroom floor.... i dont think he had ever actually noticed himself peeing before and was quite surpriesed by it... he stood back and it kept going.  when he stopped he looked at me, looked at the puddle and quickly wipde it up with his towel as much to say "oh excuse me i dont know whre that came from."

i was just going to ask this SAME question!!! Marcus has been bringing me diapers when he poops and has been asking to go potty spiratically.. i dont know if it is something i should push or not.. i encourage it of course but i dont know if i should do the full blown rtaking him to go potty etc.. i feel that as soon as the baby comes i wont have time to keep on top of it and he will prolly resort back to diapers anyways.. any advice???

Mandy, EC has gone out the window since Asha was born, just too difficult to take her when she needs to.
