PUUHHH-LEEAASE don't make me think of all 101 by myself! 1. good for the cholesterol 2. no animals are harmed in the making of your meals 3. no awkward moments at the dinner table when dc realizes that "chicken" and "chicken" are the same thing. 4. you have something in common with Bob Barker . . .

9. farming animals produces lots of methane, and contributes significantly to global warming
10. waste from feedlots significantly pollutes waterways and leads to eutrophication, algal blooms and fish kills
11. large quantities of grain is fed to animals to produce meat, at a loss of more than 90% of the energy of the original plant material
12. animal production results in significant damage to native flora and fauna (through trampling from the hard hoofed animals)
13. over grazing and trampling results in huge areas of land degradation. If we did not eat so much meat, much of Australia's outback could be protected, instead cattle run on most of it, causing serve damage
14. significant loss of biodiversity from having large numbers of just a few species (cattle, sheep, pigs, chickens) competing for resources
that will do for now, all on the environmental theme so far from me.
don't worry Adrienne, we will get to 101 easily!

adding to your 4,
19. no toxins caused by meat rotting in the intestines (humans have an intestinal tract 10 times longer than carnivores and about the same length as herbivores - carnivores have a short intestinal tract so that meat does not have time to rot).
20. no bioaccumulation of toxic chemicals
21. no toxic substances produced by the dying animal (fear causes release of production of adrenalin and others)
22. none of whatever the chemical is that keeps meat red (notice how it doesn't oxidise anymore ?!?)

WARNING: this one is not too pleasant, so if you like eating chicken I would recommend not reading it.
24. the use of antibiotics in chicken production results in high levels of bronchitis like sickness in the chickens. Unfortunately after they have been killed the puss from the lungs needs to be scrapped out. This is reasonably effective, but some puss and mucus always seems to get into the meat. they still don't mind selling it to you. if they didn't, they would loose a far too high percentage of their production (over 50% I believe). really not good to think about if you eat it! I have heard the phrase 'puss laden' used in relation to this problem. sorry to anyone that didn't heed the warning.

Yeah, i've heard the one about tasting better too.
35. Well since we're on the topic i'll assume that veges have better smelling breath. 36. You tend to not have that full bloated feeling after eating. 37. Subway sandwiches are cheaper. 38. No surcharge for chicken for pizzas. we have a surcharge in oz.

"Well since we're on the topic i'll assume that veges have better smelling breath." -- I think it depends if onions or garlic have been eating.

speaking of onions and garlic, do you guys (Claridges) eat them? I know you said you were sorta Buddhist and I know some don't. Just wondering.
