How does one soak cloth diapers in a fancy H.E. washer?

I am staying at my ex's house/my former home while he's in Ireland w/ our daughter so that my kids don't have so long to commute to school.  This is rather than them staying at my house...

Anywho, while it may be too late for my diapers now how does on program a H.E., front opening washer to soak diapers in cold water?  I am lost...  Usually I just fill my washer tub at home w/ a cold rinse and open the lid to soak when the tub is full of cold water.  Then I can soak them as long as I want.  I don't have that option here and I cannot get the damned machine to do what I want...LOL

High tech is NOT always better!

I used to have a front loader and I soaked my dipes in a bucket.

i don't even soak nappies anymore.  I just throw them in the wash.  am i missing something? they come out fine.  I used to soak in a bucket when we had really pooee nappies though.
