Introduction

Hi, all. I thought I would introduce myself to you as the moderator and discuss the scope of this board.

About this board: I hope we can use this board to discuss different ideas about our children's education and the status of education in our society as a whole.

About myself: I have a bachelors in English (literature) and secondary education (middle school and high school...usually 12-18yr olds). I also hold a Master's in Information Science. Besides the required short classroom experiences throughout my undergraduate degree program, I taught a semester of American literature to 3 classes of 10th graders and 2 senior AP composition (writing) courses at one of the local public high schools...the ones my kids will most likely attend. I also have taught 5 yrs of computer training courses at a major university to students, faculty and staff of the university.
