I just have to say that I love reading how you guys describe your kiddos. It's awesome!  thumbs up

As for mine, Ben counts to 20 and can recognize all numbers, knows the letters and their sounds, can write his name, has an amazing and surprising vocabulary, and is very interested in reading. He is always asking me to spell words for him, and practices sounding them out so he can spell them himself. He's also very interested in math, and can do simple addition up to ten, some by memory and some with the help of his fingers. LOL He isn't particularly interested in writing and drawing though, and I noticed when they sent home a class book that many of his classmates are more advanced in terms of writing and drawing, but verbally he seems advanced. He can do either preschool or pre-k next year, and we have to decide in the next couple of weeks which program we want to sign him up for. I asked his teacher for her recommendation, and am waiting to hear back from her.

Lucas is the complete opposite. At 21 months, he still doesn't talk except for mama and dada. He's in speech therapy once a week and the number of sounds he uses has increased, but he still doesn't move his mouth much. He is, however, very physical, running, jumping, climbing on everything. He can kick and throw as well as Ben. I'm thinking about signing him up for a tumbling class. Like Ben, he loves books and will sit (better than Ben ever did at this age) to listen to an entire book several times a day. His attention and concentration is amazing. He will sit and play with his speech therapist for an entire hour or longer. He is a little problem-solver and handles frustration pretty well... except when he's doing that hitting thing.

OK, I must have been reacting subconsciously to this thread or something.  This morning K told me he wants to start "learning reading skills." He held up the dictionary and said, "I want to be able to read this book to you, mommy."  So, I guess it's time!

(sorry for spelling errors, I have migraine halo and can't actually see what I'm typing verty well.)
