Did you guys hear about this? http://www.nytimes.com/2007/10/20/washington/20fda.html?pagewanted=1&_r=1&th&emc=th

It may be that it's old news to you all, it's hard to tell how dense this rock is that I live under sometimes, lol.  I heard it on NPR and read this article in the Times.

interesting.  I've only ever given Asha decongestant a couple of times so she can bf through her cold.  don't think i've ever given cough syrup or anything like that.

The only thing we ever use is tylenol/motrin to reduce fever.  I know how sensitive I am to meds and I have always been leary to give her anything because of the possibility that she may act the same way.

This is pretty timely as my whole family has been sick w/ some type of cold bug for the past 4 or so days.  I haven't ever needed to give anything other than tylenol/motrin to a baby under 18mos. I have used some cold meds a few times on Jessie and Emily when they were really really sick last year...but that was at the suggestion of the ped. office. So, now I don't know what to give. For this cold, I've been sticking to fever reducers, but we're going to the dr. today, so we'll see if the dr. gives us anything for their coughs.
