AP Mama to 3 Kids
|
Very cool!
DH and I just recently decided that we need a second car. Right now we share 1 car and that hasn't been too much of a problem in the past. However, in order to "socialize" the kdis more...especially Jessie, I've got them involved in activities every single day except Mondays. We're starting to see how this is inconvenient to everyone. First, I have to take DH to work and he often goes in early...so that means getting the kids up an hr or more than they naturally would sleep. Second, to save money, we eat lunch at home. So, between activities, I have to go pick DH up and then take him back to work after lunch if I still need the car (most days), which wastes gas and time...or, we have to eat lunch out, which wastes money. Also, there's been times we've been stuck waiting for DH while he deals w/ a problem at work...or vice versa, DH has been stuck at work even though he's done for the day, while we finish an activity.
We've been researching cars and unfortunately, we're having a difficult time finding a car that fits our already tight budget and is environmentally friendly. It seems everything that is environmentally friendly is more expensive AND is too small (DH has a large frame). Personally, I think for environmentally friendly cars to really take off...espeically in the US...they're going to need to be CHEAPER, not more expensive, than conventional cars in order for people to be willing to give up the comfort of larger cars.
