baby's first sign!

I have been casually signing to my 9mo for a couple of months, when I remember and just a few signs - eat, drink, milk, bath, finished, more, please, change - and while having her bf thismorning she looked at me and signed milk! I said 'thats right' and signed it back and she grinned from ear to ear. I realise now that she may have been doing it for a couple of weeks on and off, I just thought she was experimenting with her hand and various waving styles.... From now on I'll be on the lookout! When signing is not a natural part of your day, its too easy to forget about it. I think I will step it up a bit now.

I got so lazy with signs, isn't it great when they figure it out and you realise she's doing it.  i should have stuck to it but thankfully dd is becoming verbal now.

We're not signing as much as we used to, either, but still learning a few new ones, like "potty"  She is getting more verbal, too!
