Almost 1 year old! I know I'm not the only mama here still nursing Sooo... how often and when are we nursing. How often should we be nursing, LOL, I'm looking for an answer somewhere between "as often as they want for as long as they want" and a strict by the book mainstream reflex response. Of course, I don't keep track how often I nurse, and I'm sure most AP parents don't. But what do you think you do? We nurse sometimes at night/ way early AM then back to sleep, at wake-up time, mid AM (several times if she's fussy and resisting sleep), after lunch, mid afternoon (same as mid AM), maybe late afternoon, evening, and bedtime (might be several short fussy sessions) Does this seem on track with other babies? (Note- I am NOT askignthis at BBC, LOL)

Great to see you back and i thin a june mum update thread is definitely in order.
Asha has 3-4 day feeds which are easy. She unfortunately feeds atleast 3 times at night and usually up to 6 times which i can't sleep through. We've started to introduce the dummy in order to get a break at night and it seems to be working. I'm lucky that during the day she is a pretty patient kid for waiting for a feed.
yeah i wouldn't bother asking at BBC, i haven't been there in months.

"My beautiful, sweet angel" says her cheesy mama

At a year Delaney started staying home with her dad during the day so she would go eight hours with out, (before that she was at work with me) and she wuold make up for it when I was home. I was a whenever they want kind of mom.....I prbably started limiting it a little when she was about 18 months old, but she was a severe addict until the end when my milk dried up about a month and a half ago.

Shannon, i didn't realise that your milk dried up.
From the look of it Asha's extra night feedings may be due to her only 3 or 4 feeds during the day. i'll try to change tactics.

We are still nursing too. Violet now has three teeth and has turned into an awful little biter though. She bit down one day and then pulled off while still clamped down and broke the skin. OUCH! Hopefully she will get past that stuff quickly. I dont intend to stop anytime soon but we are stopping the nightly visit to mommy at work, mostly I think she makes up for it as soon as I get home. We did give her a glass of cows milk one day and she spit it out and looked at me really funny.

ok, now that we are officially over the 1 year mark, i can comment...mohamed nurses all night (about 4-5 times) from 10pm -6am then when he wakes up at 8, a bottle (mom at work) just after lunch before the nap, and then i feed him when i get home from work around 5:30 and he'll eat once more before i nurse him to sleep- so we are talking 8 sessions a day (including that bottle which i pump the day before at work) On top of it, he'll eat 2 feedings of about 1/3c of fruit or veggies and a couple of bites of our dinner, also.
